My story Gneiss will be published in Quiddity, an International Literary Journal and Public-Radio Program out of Benedictine University at Springfield, IL. I thought I should probably learn what “quiddity means,” since it might have something to do with the kinds of stories they publish, so here it is: the real nature or essence of a thing; that which makes it what it is.
On the other hand, “gneiss” means: any coarse-grained metamorphic rock that is banded and foliated; represents the last stage in the metamorphism of rocks before melting. Melting rocks? Love it!
My favorite sentence from this story is: “Bigfoot Says Hi!”
I promise I’ll let you know when it’s available, and when I figure out what it all means.
